Career Ops — Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Career Ops is a personal, non-commercial application built and operated by its developer (the "operator", contact: hyperviralpai@gmail.com). The operator is the data controller for all data processed by the application. The application's sole user is the operator; it has no external users.

2. What data the application accesses

When the operator authorizes Career Ops with the operator's own Google account, the application may access the following, all belonging to the operator:

• Email (Gmail API) — message content and metadata of the operator's own mailbox, limited to: sending the operator's daily summary reports, and reading replies sent to the operator's own job applications.
• Files (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides APIs) — the operator's own documents, limited to CVs, cover letters, and job-application tracking documents created or used by the application.
• Calendar and Contacts — the operator's own calendar events (interview scheduling) and contact records used for applications.
• Tasks — the operator's own follow-up tasks.
• Account profile — the operator's name and email address, for authentication only.

3. Why the data is used (purpose)

• To send the operator a daily summary of job applications submitted that day.
• To store and retrieve the operator's generated application documents.
• To schedule and track the operator's interviews and follow-ups.
• To authenticate the operator to the application.

4. How data is stored and secured

• Documents generated by the application are stored in the operator's own Google Drive — no separate copy is retained anywhere else beyond the operator's own machines.
• OAuth authorization credentials are stored encrypted at rest on the operator's own machines only. Credentials are never printed, logged, transmitted to third parties, or placed in source control.
• All network communication with Google services uses HTTPS.

5. Data sharing

Career Ops does not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to any third party. It does not use data for advertising, data mining, or profiling, and it does not transfer data to any external service other than Google's own APIs, which process it on the operator's behalf. Google's processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Retention

Application documents remain in the operator's own Google Drive until the operator deletes them. Authentication credentials remain until the operator revokes the application's access from their Google Account security settings. The application keeps no other data stores.

7. Your rights and choices

• Revoke the application's access at any time via Google Account → Security → Third-party access.
• Request deletion of any generated document directly in Google Drive.
• Contact the operator (hyperviralpai@gmail.com) with any access, correction, or deletion question; requests are answered within 30 days.

8. Google API Services User Data Policy

Career Ops's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Changes to this policy

Changes are posted on this page with an updated effective date.
